Young Explorers Camp

Join our Young Explorers Summer Camp designed especially for the youngest nature enthusiasts. Learn about Itasca Nature Center's wild animals and get the chance to meet some live critters. Each session will feature a nature walk, art project, snack, and a story based on the animal of the day. Please dress for the weather, wear closed-toed shoes, and bring a small snack each day. (CC)

Home Builders Camp

In this STEM based camp, kids will learn about different types of homes and habitats for both people and animals. Then we’ll get to work designing and building them! Projects will include tepees, igloos, castles, bird nests, bee hives, and more. (CC)

Dr. Seuss Science Camp

Each morning we will read favorite Dr. Seuss books and follow up with science-related activities, experiments, and crafts. Some topics to be covered this year planets, musical instruments, animals, and plants. This is a fun-filled week for young scientists. (CC)

Wacky Art, Science & Engineering Camp

Back by popular demand! Campers will discover some weird science as they find out about lumpy liquids and squishy solids, make their own slime, learn about floating rocks and experiment with quick sand. They will participate in different experiments and engineering challenges, along with creating their own art masterpieces! (CC)

Treasure Hunters Camp

Follow a different map each day to find the hidden treasure box at Springbrook Nature Center. Whether cracking open a geode or finding a fossil, this will be an adventure you can’t pass up. We will explore natural treasures within the plant and animal community as we hike through the forest, prairie, and creek. Each day will include stimulating art and craft projects accompanied by nature hikes, a creek walk, and other exciting outdoor activities! (CC)

Things with Wings

Enter the world of everything that flies. Through crafts, nature walks and stories each day we will focus on a new winged creature. Butterflies, birds, ladybugs, bees and more!! Please bring a beach towel and snack daily. Dress for the weather and wear closed toe shoes.(CC)

Twilight Camp

Each day will have a different theme. We will learn about nocturnal animals, perform wacky science experiments, enjoy hikes, campfire songs and make crafts. Wear comfortable clothes that you won't mind getting messy and closed toe shoes. Don't forget to bring a snack and bug spray each day. (CC)

Prairie Style Art & Architecture

Explore the world of one of the most influential architects of all time. Frank Lloyd Wright pioneered the art of conservation and working within nature. We will learn about prairie style art as well as create our own home model based on lesson plans from his trust. On the last day of camp, we will visit Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio in Oak Park. Camp will run until 5pm on Friday because of the field trip. (CC)
