Free Pictures with Santa
Santa will be at the Usher Park Gazebo. Please bring your camera to capture this special moment and pick up a holiday token. We will be collecting new toys for Toys for Tots for the Marine Corps Reserve and non-perishable food items for the Itasca Food Pantry. Santa will be at Usher Park on:

Itasca Holiday Trolley Lights Tour - Wed, Dec. 13 & Thu, Dec 21 (NEW SLOTS OPEN)
All aboard the Holiday Trolley Lights Tour! While aboard the trolley, you will enjoy hot chocolate as you travel and see the lights around Itasca and Usher Park’s Winter Wonderland. There will be a special guest that will surely bring the Holiday magic on board. All riders must be registered. The Trolley will be picking up and dropping off participants at the Itasca Waterpark Hideaway Room.
Holiday House Decoration Contest - Mon, Dec. 11
Village of Itasca and the Itasca Park District residents, decorate your house with holiday spirit! To enter your house: email your name, address, and phone number to gstankiewicz@itascaparkdistrict.com. Lights must be on by 6 pm. Prizes will be awarded! Winners will be posted on the Itasca Facebook Page & website by December 19.
Gingerbread Man Scavenger Hunt - Dec. 1-10
"Run! Run! As fast as you can! As fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!" The Gingerbread Man is back and once again escaped Grandma's kitchen and we need help finding him! Participants will find and solve clues, puzzles, and riddles hidden around Itasca. Complete anytime between December 2nd and December 11th. Email correct locations the Gingerbread Man visited to erubo@itascaparkdistrict.com to be entered for a prize. The first clue will be email to you on December 2nd at 12:00 pm. Price per family. You can register additional members to receive more entries for a prize. (ER)
You've Been Grinched! - Fri, Dec. 15
Grinch your own house or a friend or family's house with a holiday surprise! The Grinch's helpers will deliver the surprises and treats to Itasca Park District and Village Residents on Friday, December 15th between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. A "You've Been Grinched!" sign will be left in the yard stating who Grinched that house. (ER)
Dog Photos with the Grinch- Sat, Dec. - 9 -10:30am & Tue, Dec. 12 - 10-11am
That big guy in the red suit gets all the love, help make the Grinch’s heart grow 3 sizes and bring your furry family member for doggie pictures with the Grinch at the Barking Lot. Bring your camera and capture the moment. This is a free event.
Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt Mon, Dec. 18
Bundle up, grab a flashlight, and join us at Washington Park for a Candy Cane Hunt! Participants will hunt for a dozen candy canes. Some candy canes will have a special note attached to it to be turned in for a prize. All participants will leave with a small goody bag. (ER)
Breakfast with The Grinch - Sat, Dec. 23
Get ready for some holiday cheer as children get a chance to enjoy Whoville. There will be crafts and games, a viewing of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and a special appearance of the Grinch himself! Food and snacks will be provided. All participants ages 2 and under are free but must register for the event. (GS)
Disney Characters on Ice Sat, Jan 20
Skating alongside Elsa & Anna! Giggle with Olaf! There will be music, photo opportunities, hot cocoa, and treats. If you plan on skating, you must bring your own skates. Pre-registration is required for this event. Each person attending must register- children and adults. (GS)
Polar Express Storytime Train - Sat, Dec 16 (SOLD OUT) Notice Date Change
Join us for one of Itasca’s favorite events! We will meet at the Metra Train Station in Itasca and board the train for a fun-filled trip. Enjoy a story, chocolate milk, cookies, and a special visit from everyone’s favorite jolly old elf, Santa! The trip will take you from Itasca to Elgin and back. Each child will receive a special gift from Santa to remind them of their magical journey. Come dressed in your favorite Christmas PJ’s! After registration, the itinerary will be mailed to your home. Children age 6 months and under are free. Information may change based on Metra’s Schedule.
